The oldest jazz festival in the Czech Republic will resound the autumn Prague again – the artist agency Pragokoncert Bohemia presents the 34th International Jazz Festival Praha. During nineteen evenings in the legendary Reduta Jazz Club, visitors will enjoy music by artists from all continents, prominent Czech and international big bands, skilled artists and young talents. The program includes everything from traditional jazz to Brazilian samba, funky, pulsing groove neo-bop and jazz music with African roots. You can look forward to performances of the rising star of American jazz scene - beautiful Aubrey Johnson who has been performing with Bobby McFerrin and Fred Hersch - or charming and award-winning Melanie Scholtz from South Africa who continues to amaze listeners around the world by her captivating voice. One of the highlights of the festival will be a rhythmic jazz of the great Canadian trombonist Darren Sigesmund who has won many awards both as an instrumentalist and composer of jazz songs. Bass player Carlos Dalelane from Mozambique will play popular funky with a touch of African rhythms and the promising saxophonist Nicole Jo will perform as part of her world tour. We are honored to welcome Czech legend inherently associated with Reduta - Jiří Stivín, magician of wind instruments who prepared this concert as an intro to his forthcoming jubilee which will be celebrated by three musical evenings in Reduta (70x Stivín) in November. We are happy to present Uwe Plath and her project East West European Jazz Orchestra. Again, you will be charmed by the unique singer Dian Pratiwi from Bali and forty outstanding international musicians. This festival tip will erase the distinction between stage and auditorium, between musicians and visitors… We did not forget the young generation of Czech musicians – festival intro will feature Jan Fečo Quartet, the winner of the competition Czech Jazz Contest 2012. You can also enjoy the progressive Miroslav Hloucal Quartet, the winner of the German Jazz Prix. 34th annual International Jazz Festival Praha will surprise by its musical and cultural diversity. It will be enhanced by the atmosphere of the famous Reduta Jazz Club whose intimate spaces inimitably draw the listener into the action on stage and so indulge to listeners’ unforgettable experience
